Wine tasting has long been a craft, but honey tasting is a new area, although honey actually contains a far wider range of flavour notes than wine.

It contains everything you need to become a real honey tasting expert, able to distinguish a good honey from a poor honey and to identify the different flavour notes in a honey variety.

The four honeys in this Tasting Kit are provided by 4th generation beekeeper Antonio. 

Raw Organic Heather Honey (250g)- An amazingly deep tasting shrub honey; it has a depth of flavour with a pronounced bitterness similar to dark chocolate or black tea. It comes from the bees feeding on the low lying heather shrubs often on mountainous terrain. 

Raw Organic Eucalyptus Honey (250g)- A really beautiful tasting honey; it has a wonderfully fruity creaminess along with a very mild eucalyptus/menthol aftertaste. Suitable for all ages as it is not overbearing in any way. This is a relatively light-tasting tree honey. It shares characteristics with other herbal honeys, such as thyme or sage.

Raw Organic Lavender Honey (250g) - This is a very light and pleasant herb flower honey, it has a warm and soothing taste of creamy florals. It comes from bees feeding on the lavender bushes in the Mediterranean area, It is different from the tree sap honey which is often dark in appearance and strong in taste, this honey tends to be mild, lighter and softer in taste.

Raw Organic Thyme Honey (250g)- Has a soft creamy taste with a gentle herbal hint of thyme, you will find it subtle and slightly savoury. This is a honey that is ideal for all the family due to its balanced and pleasing flavour.  It comes from bees feeding on the small flowers on the thyme plant from

Who produces the honey? The bees of Antonio Simon, a 4th generation beekeeper who takes pride in producing honey in a non-intrusive way without adding or taking away anything from the honey. Antonio's hives are mainly based in the mountain ranges of north of Madrid, although his Lavender comes from further south. His beekeeping practices and the land he has his hives on have been certified as organic by the Committee of Organic Agriculture in Madrid.

Where does the honey come from? These varieties of honey come from the areas around the northern mountain ranges of Madrid in Spain known as Sierra De Guadarrama.
