This raw Greek Sidr honey comes courtesy of Asterios, who works with a big network of artisan beekeepers. He has taken up our challenge of finding Sidr honey, following a bad year for this variety.  Recently he has found some more Sidr, through a fellow beekeeper Triantafyllos a dedicated artisan beekeeper who turned out to have a wonderful harvest Sidr honey.

The bees feed on the lavish nectar that this tree produces for a short period in the late Spring producing this legendary honey.

Where it comes from: This honey comes from the Macedonian one of the most beautiful areas of Greece, rich in natural beauty, history, and great food.

More on this honey: Sidr Honey is among the finest variants of honey in the world. It comes with a distinctive taste, and is known for its antibacterial qualities. This honey is considered sacred in many religions.

About the beekeeper: It was brought to us by Asterios and his friend Triantafyllos, who lives in a very wild area of Greece. His hives are situated deep in the forest, miles from places where pesticides, herbicides and fungicides are used.
