Video: Passion and Beekeeping in the Apennine Mountains
The beekeepers behind an exceptionally pure Italian Chestnut honey

In this short video, we visit Carolina and Stefano in Val di Comino, a remote part of central Italy nestled in the Apennines. Here, surrounded by untouched nature and ancient chestnut forests, they share what drives their work and why their bees—and their honey—are so extraordinary.
“We don’t sleep at night if we don’t know the bees are okay.”
That’s one of the first things Carolina says in the video. It sets the tone for everything else. What’s clear from the start is that this isn’t just a business—it’s a deeply rooted way of life.
Over the course of the video, Carolina explains:
-
Why chestnut trees are so important to their honey:
“When the chestnut trees flower, they produce so much nectar that the bees choose only those flowers and leave the others.” -
What makes Val di Comino special:
“We have a lot of water. Everything here is natural. It’s not touched. Also the nature is amazing.” -
How their honey journey began:
“He started with four beehives 13 years ago.
A Glimpse Into Their World
The video takes you through the landscape, the sound of bees at work, and the rich scent of chestnut in bloom—something Carolina wishes viewers could experience:
“If you could smell it... very strong. That’s the chestnut.”
It’s a short but intimate window into the dedication that goes into every jar of their Chestnut honey.
