Raw, Natural, Unpasteurised and Incredibly Tasty

Raw Coriander, Beech & Oak, and Herb & Wildflower honeys

Naturally Antibacterial, Unfiltered and Enzyme Rich

Produced and harvested in the area of Gorna Oryahovitsa in Bulgaria. This area is situated at the northern foothills of the Tarnovo Elevations - a beautiful landscape with a rich and ancient tradition of beekeeping.

This gift selection contains a wonderful mix of raw honeys from wild forests and abandoned villages - all unfiltered and unheated. This selection has been put together to give the best possible taste experience of natural honeys from the remote rural areas of Bulgaria, which has a rich and ancient beekeeping tradition.

Raw Coriander Honey (500g) - Ivan's raw coriander honey is a sweet, herbaceous honey, with a medium-strength sweetness. The aroma is very mild, with sweet, slightly citrus notes, similar perhaps to lemon oil.

The flavour starts off with a strong floral and herbal flavour, lengthening into a sweetness that reminds of us very sweet, sun-ripened oranges. The herbaceous notes lend an interesting, contrasting sourness to balance the sweetness of the foretaste and main flavours.  It finishes quite cleanly, with a hint of beeswax lingering momentarily.

Raw Beech & Oak Honey (500g) - Ivan's raw beech and oak honey is a rare type of honey.

This is a deep and rich tasting tree honey also known as honeydew honey. It has a beautiful, rich flavour like a nutty caramel. This comes from bees feeding on beech and oak trees in Bulgaria. Tree honey tends to be dark and have a deeper flavour in comparison to other varieties.

Raw Herb & Wildflower Honey (500g) -  This is a very unique variety, a sweet light floral taste with hints of fresh herbs.

It has a clean taste of herbs and flowers. It comes from bees feeding on the herb gardens in the abandoned villages of Gorna Oryahovitsa in Bulgaria. These villages have turned into meadows and herb gardens over time where the bees love to forage.

The herbs and wildflowers the bees feed on to make this honey are: Chamomile, Spearmint, St John’s Wort, Lemon Balm (Melissa), Chicory, Nettle, Clover, Lucerne (Alfalfa), Yarrow, Thyme and Oregano.

Please know that raw honey does crystalise and this is a natural process that occurs mainly due to the natural glucose in raw honey. For more information on why honey sets visit this article and for a more scientific explanation go to wikipedia.

Pleasant set

I normally prefer light honeys, yet I found this Beech and Oak very pleasant. I’d buy it again, thanks!

Bulgarian Raw Honey Sampler

I can thoroughly recommend the selection. It arrived quickly and well packed. Hard to chose a favourite. Maybe 'just' ahead is the Beech & Oak. But honestly, all are absolutely delicious.

Bulgarian Raw Honey Sampler

For the last 22 years, to decipher the quality, value and probable benefits of a natural product, I have used the Lecher Antenna, invented by Rene Naccachian who I have met twice at his laboratories in Paris. Among the many quantum physics capabilities of this extraordinary device are the fact that it can read non-invasively whether or not a natural product can actually benefit the recipient. These three Bulgarian honeys as well as all the other raw honey I have purchased/sampled from The Raw Honey Shop have achieved the highest possible reading on the antenna, a 1:1 which, according to Professor Naccachian, indicates that the product is not only beneficial at the cellular level but also reaches highest universal energy level.

Coriander, Beach & Oak, Herb & Wildflower Sampler

I purchased the sampler along with the 1kg Laverner honey and can honestly say I’m 100% happy. I could not say what flavour is my favourite as I’m using all of these to slightly sweeten My Tea & Coffee as well on my morning Oats. Weekend treat is to have some honey on freshly baked toasted bread. We have now replaced all cane sugar and only use raw honey indoors. Mrs is baking a cake Saturday which will be sweetened by my Beach & Oak honey.... So happy to find a true Raw honey shop who’s keeping his customers happy and the bees alive and busy. Before I go you will also find the customer service is amazing. Go on you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful honey tasty.... such a difference to the over processed (and over priced?) jars available at other outlets. Each jar has such a different and unique flavour..would be a great introduction to the delights of raw honey. And such a fast and efficient service!
