Description

This set combines 4 beautiful Antibacterial Raw Honeys. A large 1kg jar of raw Buckwheat (active 17.5), a 125g jar of our highest grade 20+ Active Manuka. You will also get FREE a 50g jar of Raw Organic Chestnut and a 50g of  Raw Organic Heather Raw Honey.

This set has been created to enable you to benefit from two different types of antibacterial honey that can be used in different ways..  The antibacterial element of Manuka honey is not affected by heat, in fact, it tends to increase with heat. Whereas the opposite happens with Buckwheat honey and other active non-manuka honeys - they are affected by heat. So use the Manuka where heat is involved - tea, hot porridge etc - and use the Buckwehat for other uses, where heat is not involved. Both honeys can be used for skincare, helping to heal wounds and easing the pain of burns.

More about our Buckwheat Raw Honey:-

  • Raw, natural and one of the purest honeys because of the remote area it comes from.

  • Raw organic wild Buckwheat honey from untouched Lithuanian meadows that surround forests

  • A dark honey is often compared with Manuka, because of its activity level. This one was tested as  17.5.

  • 100% Raw, completely natural, coarse filtered

Come late Summer Laimonas  puts his hives in wild meadows full of buckwheat flowers. His bees then gorge themselves on the nectar and produce a dark honey that is often compared with Manuka, because of its activity level.

You will find the flavour similar to tree honey – strong with molasses/malty notes. It has a strong aroma and taste and is not as sweet as other honeys. It is an earthy type of honey. Buckwheat honey is highly prized honey in northern Europe.

Beekeeper Laimonas is an organic beekeeper who follows an ancient tradition of beekeeping handed down from his grandparents and his grandparents' grandparents. This heritage gives him a deep knowledge of bees and honey which enables him to help his bees produce very high-quality honey.

Please note, this honey is crystallised.

More about the Raw Mountain Active 20+ Manuka Honey:-

  • Single source Mountain Manuka that comes from an extremely remote mountain wildlife reserve in New Zealand. (Most Manuka is a blend from different beekeepers, so it is not possible to know how it has been produced and where it has come from.)
  • Independent laboratory tested.
  • Active 20+ (MGO 829) - just retested at nearly 22+ (the potency of Manuka increases for a couple of years after harvesting)
  • Strongly antibacterial, coarse-filtered, unpasteurised, and enzyme-rich.
  • This is an artisan raw Manuka, produced by a small scale beekeeper.

This raw Mountain Manuka honey is produced by the bees of Debbie, an artisan beekeeper, who lives in a paradise for producing premium Manuka honey.  Her hives are in an area surrounded by Native Forest in the Mount Bruce Conservation Reserve. Here wild Manuka grows up the mountainside. And the Ruamahunga river provides fresh mountain water for the bees to drink.

This helps the bees produce the highest grade Manuka — only for use sparingly. One or two spoonfuls a day is our recommendation.

The Manuka is unlike the Manuka from the bigger NZ companies who buy their honey from many different honey producers - and blend it together. This is a single source Manuka.

All of Debbie's Manuka honey is independently certified in NZ, through a government scheme to guarantee the quality at a time when there are many reports of fake Manuka on the market.

Colour: This honey has a beautiful colour. In the light, it has a rich, medium-amber colour, with a warm, reddish hue.

About the beekeeper:  Debbie came upon beekeeping by accident, after discovering two wild swarms on her land. She rapidly developed a deep love of beekeeping. Debbie has a genuine love for her bees and this helps in producing an amazing quality raw Manuka honey. Bees are sensitive and respond well when treated with kindness.

Organic Beekeeper Antonio's Raw Heather Honey is a classic variety. Very popular due to its superb deep flavour, rich but not sickly, balsamic but not savoury. It is mildly bitter but complimented by a balanced sweetness, hard to describe as nothing quite compares to this, just simply stunning!

Antonio's Raw Organic Chestnut Honey is a deep and malty-tasting tree honey. It has a beautiful, rich and nutty flavour, which many people adore. This honey comes from bees feeding on sweet chestnut trees. It is quite different from the blossom varieties which are light and subtle - this is dark and more potent. It is also high in minerals - tests have shown chestnut honey to contain the highest level of minerals of any honey.

Please know that raw honey does crystallise and this is a natural process that occurs mainly due to the natural glucose in raw honey. For more information on why honey sets visit this article and for a more scientific explanation go to wikipedia.
