More on the flavour: This is a creamy, sweet tasting mixed flower honey, it has a light taste of vanilla and a hint of wild meadow flowers. It comes from bees feeding on small wild flowers in the Mediterranean area. Different from the tree honey which comes from sap, this honey tends to be very mild and subtle and sets quicker than others.
Colour: This particular honey is a slightly creamy orange colour.
Where does this honey come from?: This variety of multifloral honey comes from Aragon in Spain, a largely untouched, wild and diverse landscape close to the French border at the north and borders with Valencia to the south.
Who produces this honey?: This multifloral variety comes from Uncle Ramon, a friendly hip beekeeper with a passion for traditional methods of honey production. Ramon produces a wide variety of different honey, all completely raw with nothing added or taken away.
What about the plant the honey comes from?: The wild flowers and flora of the Pyrenees are vast amongst the mountainous regions, there are red poppies, purple borage, gentians, orchids, saxifrage and Pyrenean buttercups just to name a few!
Common Uses: Multifloral honey is particularly good to use as a skin treatment to aid in clearing blemishes, spots and acne. It is also very versatile in different recipes, such as: a glaze for meats, with salads, cakes, flapjacks, breads and teas.
Multifloral Honey Facts: Multifloral honey varies widely depending on the areas the bees have been feeding on, it can be wild meadows or just a mix of any flora in the local area. Ramons in particular tends to be quite similar each time, light, creamy, and medium sweet.
