This gift set contains a wonderful mix of rare and greatly antibacterial raw honeys. It has been carefully constructed to give the best possible taste experience from the remote untouched hills and mountains of rural Greece, and New Zealand. This set makes a perfect gift for anyone who is a honey connoiseur with an interest in unique, high-quality, all-natural, raw antibacterial honeys.

Thomas' raw Greek Fir honey starts with a mild nuttiness then explodes into a bold, juicy sweetness with hints of savoury herbs and a slight sourness in the aftertaste, similar to the sourness experienced at the end of blackstrap molasses. The taste lingers sweetly on the palate for a good time.

This Fir tree honey is harvested from altitudes of at least 1500 metres on a mountain close to Argithea in Greece. This is a dark thick runny honey. It is known as a honeydew, because it is from the sap and resin of the tree not from flower nectar.  Honeydews are high in oligosaccharides, which are known for their prebiotic qualities- aiding digestion.

Menelaos' Raw Greek Sidr honey: This is the rare and legendary Sidr Honey, which is collected by bees from deep inside isolated pesticide-free forests. It has been lab tested for authenticity, as there is a lot of fake Sidr on the market. However, Menelaos' passed with flying colours. And this is what we present to you now.

Because this is a particularly pure version of Sidr it has cost us more to buy and this is reflected in the price we have to charge.

Menelaos' Sidr is thick with a rich, lavish and herbal sweet taste. There is a slightly sour and tangy aftertaste. Sidr is a highly valued honey from ancient times and is considered sacred in many religions. It comes from the Lote Tree, which has medicinal properties.

The bees feed on the lavish nectar that this tree produces for a short period in the late Spring, producing this legendary honey.

Debbie's Raw Manuka honey is a 10 + Manuka from New Zealand. It is produced by the bees of Debbie, an artisan beekeeper, who lives in a paradise for producing premium Manuka honey.  Her hives are in an area surrounded by Native Forest in the Mount Bruce Conservation Reserve. Here wild Manuka grows up the mountainside. And the Ruamahunga river provides fresh mountain water for the bees to drink.

Here the bees produce the top grade Manuka. This Manuka is ideal in your tea or coffee, on yoghurt, porridge etc. It is unlike the Manuka from the bigger New Zealand companies who buy their honey from many different honey producers - and blend it together. This is a single source Manuka.

All of Debbie's Manuka honey is independently certified in NZ, through a government scheme to guarantee the quality at a time when there is so much fake Manuka on the market.

Please know that raw honey does crystallise and this is a natural process that occurs mainly due to the natural glucose in raw honey. For more information on why honey sets visit this article and for a more scientific explanation go to wikipedia.
