This is our Ultimate Antibacterial Raw Honey Set. Includes a 250g jar of our highest grade 20+ Active Manuka Raw Honey and a 500g jar of 17.5+ Award Winning Organic Greek Oak.

This set has been created to enable you to benefit from two different types of antibacterial honey that can be used in different ways..  The antibacterial element of Manuka honey is not affected by heat, in fact it tends to increase with heat. Whereas the opposite happens with Oak honey and other active non-manuka honeys - they are affected by heat. So use the Manuka where heat is involved - tea, hot porridge etc - and use the Oak for other uses, where heat is not involved. Both honeys can be used for skincare, helping to heal wounds and easing the pain of burns.

More about the Raw Mountain Active 20+ Manuka Honey:-

  • Single source Mountain Manuka that comes from an extremely remote mountain wildlife reserve in New Zealand. (Most Manuka is a blend from different beekeepers, so it is not possible to know how it has been produced and where it has come from.)
  • Independent laboratory tested.
  • Active 20+ (MGO 829) - just retested at nearly 22+ (the potency of Manuka increases for a couple of years after harvesting)
  • Strongly antibacterial, coarse-filtered, unpasteurised, and enzyme-rich.
  • This is an artisan raw Manuka, produced by a small scale beekeeper.

This raw Mountain Manuka honey is produced by the bees of Debbie, an artisan beekeeper, who lives in a paradise for producing premium Manuka honey.  Her hives are in an area surrounded by Native Forest in the Mount Bruce Conservation Reserve. Here wild Manuka grows up the mountainside. And the Ruamahunga river provides fresh mountain water for the bees to drink.

This helps the bees produce the highest grade Manuka — only for use sparingly. One or two spoonfuls a day is our recommendation.

The Manuka is unlike the Manuka from the bigger NZ companies who buy their honey from many different honey producers - and blend it together. This is a single source Manuka.

All of Debbie's Manuka honey is independently certified in NZ, through a government scheme to guarantee the quality at a time when there are many reports of fake Manuka on the market.

Colour: This honey has a beautiful colour. In the light, it has a rich, medium-amber colour, with a warm, reddish hue.

About the beekeeper:  Debbie came upon beekeeping by accident, after discovering two wild swarms on her land. She rapidly developed a deep love of beekeeping. Debbie has a genuine love for her bees and this helps in producing an amazing quality raw Manuka honey. Bees are sensitive and respond well when treated with kindness.

More about our Raw Organic 17.5 Active Award Winning Greek Oak Honey:-

  • Single source Mountain Oak honey from Mount Hoomontas, Greece
  • Independent laboratory tested.
  • Active 17.5, comparible with a medium strength Manuka
  • Top award winning honey, getting a Platinium Award (the top level) in the London Honey Awards. Also a winner in the Great Taste Awards.
  • Strongly antibacterial, coarse-filtered, unpasteurised, and enzyme-rich.
  • This is an artisan raw Manuka, produced by Dimitri and Vicky, a husband and wife artisna beekeeping team.

This Organic Greek Oak was awarded the coveted Platinum Award at the 2020 London Honey Awards. It is certified Organic, wilderness honey from traditional award winning Greek beekeeping team.

In the Forests on Mount Holomontas, the Oak trees produce a sap, which the bees of Dimitri and Vicky make into a thick and spectacular honey.

Platinum Award winning honey in the London Honey Awards and the Great Taste judges said of the flavour: "This is a grown up and sophisticated honey, that is very special indeed... This honey is dark and sultry, with a thick and syrupy body & complex bittersweet aroma."  Also: "An unctuously thick, glossy, deep amber honey with characteristic rich muscovado notes on the nose - but the palate is a surprise with rich, woody caramel a plenty but also a bright lift, almost citrussy, presumably from the herbal foraging, which adds a further dimension and lifts this to another level. A really great example we felt."

The Raw Honey Shop is proud to be the only UK stockist.

About the beekeepers: Vicky and Dimitris' bees work the trees and plants in a Natura 2000 reserve in the area of Mount Holomontas in Chalkidiki. It is a forested reserve, a very pure and wild area, with soil and climate that enables the bees to produce very special honeys - with a depth and intensity of flavour that you only find in the very best honeys. Organic beekeepers Vicky & Dimitris believe that honey in the jar should be as it was in the hives.

More on honeydew honey: This is a dark thick runny honey – it is known as a honeydew, because it is from the sap and resin of the tree not from flower nectar.  Honeydews are high in oligosaccharides, which are known for their prebiotic qualities- aiding digestion.

Please know that raw honey does crystallise and this is a natural process that occurs mainly due to the natural glucose in raw honey. For more information on why honey sets visit this article and for a more scientific explanation go to wikipedia.
