These natural beeswax candles, made from undyed wax (it's difficult to find dyes that don't produce toxins) have been handmade by Ivan's workers and are beautifully decorated and presented.
Beeswax candles are superior to candles produced from paraffin wax.
They do not produce smoke or soot. Most candles are made of petroleum and scented with chemicals. This gives off soot as it burns, which is not great for the respiratory system or the environment.
Size: To give you an idea of dimensions, this candle is just over 13cm tall.
Colour:These candles are completely undyed and have a golden hue.
Where does this wax come from?: This beeswax come from Gorna Oryahovitsa in Bulgaria. It is situated at the northern foothill of the Tarnovo Elevations, a beautiful landscape with a rich and ancient tradition of beekeeping..
Who produces the beeswax?: Obviously the bees. But the bees belong to Ivan. He is a young and fastidious beekeeper who is very concerned with details and getting it just right. He has a systematic approach and colour codes his hives, this stops the bees getting confused and heading to the wrong hive where a fight may ensue! Ivan is going through organic certification and is in his last year, it takes 3 years to obtain.
