    • Raw, natural and one of the purest honeys because of the remote area it comes from.
    • Mild flavour, organic Acacia honey
    • Stays runny for longer than other honeys
    • cold-pressed
    • Unpasteurised

Raw Organic Acacia Honey is a real Hungarian speciality, as there are more Acacia Forests in Hungary than the rest of Europe combined.  This is one of the most popular honey types due to its mild sweet taste.  Acacia is a honey that stays runny much longer then other raw honeys and has a lower glycaemic index. Because of its mild flavour , Acacia honey is good to mix into drinks or recipes as it does not affect the flavour, like Oak and other stronger honeys.

Colour: This particular honey is a light golden colour.

Please note - we are currently photographing this honey.

Where does the honey come from? - One reason Antal's honey stands out is his strategic approach to getting the best from the Acacia harvest.

Antal operates in two distinct zones: specifically the Kiskunság National Park in the Great Plain of Hungary, and the northern Carpathian mountainous region of Nógrád.

The Acacia trees in Kiskunság bloom early, and just as their season ends, the bloom begins in Nógrád, amidst the breath taking valleys and towering peaks of the western Carpathian Mountains.

Who produces this honey? - Antal is a Certified Organic Beekeeper.

What about the tree the honey comes from? -The Acacia tree is actually a flowering shrub which is part of the legume family. It is also known as the black locust tree due the black legumes which grow on the tree and give the appearance of locusts. There are an incredible amount of species, all produce a light beautiful smelling nectar that the bees love.

Common Uses - Acacia honey is particularly good to use on irritated skin, it has a soothing effect and can help repair wounds, infections and damage. It is ideal for herb teas and coffee because it does not alter the flavour. It is also very versatile in recipes such as: cakes, cookies, desert toppings, ice creams, warm honey teas, salads and meat glazes, this is because its light flavour does not tend to alter a dish's taste.

Acacia Honey Facts - Acacia honey has a relatively low glycaemic index, therefore it is more suited for those who can be sensitive to sugar for different reasons. This also means the honey stays in a pristine-looking, runny state for a long time, like a clear liquid gold.

Crystallisation - Please know that raw honey does crystallise and is a natural process of raw honey (therefore we cannot except returns on honey that may have crystallised). We indicate on the website the state of each honey - either runny or crystallised but be aware this is to the best of our knowledge and the state can change quickly.   If you want your honey runny and it has crystallised it's very easy to return it to runny go to this link Runny Honey  or see this section under our FAQ's Why Is My Honey Crystallised?

We only supply raw honey because we believe this is how all honey should be.  If you don't want your honey to crystallise then raw honey probably isn't for you.
