Please note the best before date for this honey is 31/05/2025 and that that is reflected in the discounted price.  Please note it is still perfectly safe to eat as honey never 'goes off'.  The best before date is simply the date that we think the honey is likely to crystallise.

Raw Greek Acacia Honey: Raw Greek Acacia Honey is a very mild and pleasant honey with a soft and light taste of creamy vanilla and a hint of floral blossoms.

Background: I discovered this Acacia on a trip this Spring to Greece, when I met a young beekeeper called Tasos whose bees roam on the lower slopes of Mount Olympus. This is one of the purest Acacia honeys we have found.

    • Raw, natural and one of the purest honeys because of the remote area it comes from.
    • Mild flavoured Acacia honey
    • Stays runny for longer than other honeys
    • From a small scale family of beekeepers

Asterios' Raw Acacia Honey: Raw Greek Acacia Honey is a very mild and pleasant honey with a soft and light taste of creamy vanilla and a hint of floral blossoms.

Acacia Honey Facts: Acacia is a honey that stays runny much longer than other
raw honeys and has a lower glycaemic index. Because of its mild flavour Acacia honey is good to mix into drinks or recipes as it does not affect the flavour, like Oak and other stronger honeys.

Colour: This particular honey is a light golden colour.

Common Uses: Acacia honey is great in tea and coffee, as it does not alter the flavour.

Where does the honey come from? : This honey comes from the lower slopes of Mount Olympus,  Greece, where the bees roam amongst the Acacia trees in the Spring collecting the nectar from the flowers.

Who produces this honey?  Asterios is one of the most genuine people
you could ever meet. His aim is always to present to us the highest quality honey possible. He is lucky enough to have an amazing network of fellow artisan Greek
beekeepers. This honey is bought to you by one such beekeeper, called Tasos.
He is very enthusiastic and for him beekeeping is an art and they produce amazing honey and happy bees!

What about the tree the honey comes from?: The Acacia tree is actually a flowering shrub which is part of the legume family. It is also known as the black locust tree due to the black legumes which grow on the tree and give the appearance of locusts. The beautiful smelling nectar is loved by the bees and humans alike.

Please know that raw honey does crystalise and this is a natural process that occurs mainly due to the natural glucose in raw honey. For more information on why honey sets visit this article and for a more scientific explanation go to wikipedia.
